బెంగళూరు సౌత్ ఎంపీ తేజస్వి సూర్య భార్య, కళాకారిణి శివశ్రీ స్కందప్రసాద్ రైలు ప్రయాణంలో తనకు ఎదురైన చేదు అనుభవాన్ని సోషల్ మీడియాలో పంచుకున్నారు. బహిరంగ ప్రదేశాల్లో ఇతరుల ప్రశాంతత, వ్యక్తిగత స్థలాన్ని గౌరవించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని ఆమె పేర్కొన్నారు. తన ప్రయాణంలో కొందరు ప్రయాణికులు ఐదు గంటల పాటు నిరంతరం గట్టిగా మాట్లాడుతూ, నవ్వుతూ ఇతరులకు ఇబ్బంది కలిగించారని తెలిపారు.
56 సీట్లు ఉన్న కోచ్లో సుమారు 40 మంది మధ్య వయస్కులు ఒక బృందంగా ప్రయాణిస్తున్నారని శివశ్రీ తెలిపారు. వారు చాలా సేపు గట్టిగా మాట్లాడటంతో ప్రశాంతంగా ప్రయాణించాలనుకునే ఇతర ప్రయాణికులకు ఇబ్బంది కలిగిందని ఆమె పేర్కొన్నారు. కళాకారులుగా తమకు నిశ్శబ్దం ఎంతో అవసరమని, ఒకేసారి అనేక ఆలోచనలు మనసులో మెదులుతుంటాయని వివరించారు.
ఈ పరిస్థితిని భరించలేక వేరే కోచ్లో సీటు దొరుకుతుందేమోనని టీటీఈని శివశ్రీ అడిగారు. అయితే రైలు పూర్తిగా నిండిపోవడంతో అది సాధ్యం కాలేదని తెలిపారు. దీంతో అదే కోచ్లో మరో సీటులో కూర్చోవాల్సి వచ్చిందన్నారు. ఇంతలో గట్టిగా మాట్లాడుతున్న ఎనిమిది మంది వ్యక్తుల బృందం యూనో ఆట ప్రారంభించిందని చెప్పారు. దీంతో మరోసారి టీటీఈని సంప్రదించగా.. ఆయన ఆ బృందాన్ని ఆట ఆపాలని సూచించారు. వారు వెంటనే ఆట నిలిపివేసినా, కొద్దిసేపటికే మళ్లీ టీటీఈతో సరదాగా మాట్లాడినట్లు శివశ్రీ తెలిపారు. ఈ ఘటనను ప్రస్తావిస్తూ బహిరంగ ప్రదేశాల్లో పౌరస్పృహ, ఇతరుల పట్ల బాధ్యతాయుతమైన ప్రవర్తన ఎప్పుడు మెరుగుపడుతుందనే ప్రశ్నను ఆమె లేవనెత్తారు. ఇతరులకు ఇబ్బంది కలగకుండా ప్రయాణించడం ప్రతి ఒక్కరి బాధ్యత అని సూచించారు.
I had a traumatic train ride today. It is very sad to see how people do not respect public spaces enough. When we are in the public, we should not shout or even talk loudly and disrespect every individual’s personal space in Public. As artists, we have a 100 thoughts running. And we thrive in silence. Everyone can understand the initial excitement when travelling in a big group in a train. But imagine a group of 40 middle aged adults occupying a 56 seater coach and talking so loudly to everyone for 5 hours. Non stop. Problem in India is nobody can question them. It is an unsaid rule that the other 16 of us which aren’t part of the group should simply endure them. So I requested the TTE if I could get another seat in a different coach. He tried but unfortunately since the train was full, I had to simply stay in the same coach but a different seat. Suddenly a group of 8, that was already yapping and laughing non stop, started playing UNO. And then I requested the TTE if anything could be done. He requested them to stop and they immediately stopped. But after a couple of minutes TTE came back and mockingly asked them ‘yaake sir galaatte maadtaideera?’ (Why are you creating nuisance?) and they had a good laugh with him and said, ‘sir Neevu banni, adona’(Sir you also join, let’s play). So the concern here is not about who won. Myself, along with them, as Indians, lost the Civic sense game. When will we as a nation improve our public behaviour?
