ఎన్డీఏ ప్రభుత్వం రావడంతో దేశ తలరాత మారిపోయిందని ప్రధాని మోడీ అన్నారు. ఎన్డీఏ ప్రభుత్వం వచ్చి నేటితో పన్నెండేళ్లు పూర్తైంది. అంతేకాకుండా ప్రధానిగా మోడీ.. నెహ్రూ రికార్డ్ను అధిగమించారు. దీంతో ఢిల్లీలోని భారత్ మండపంలో ఎన్డీఏ నేతలు సమావేశమై మోడీని సన్మానించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా మోడీ మాట్లాడారు.
‘‘నాకు ప్రజలే దైవ స్వరూపం. ఈ రాజకీయ ప్రయాణంలోని ఎన్నో ఒడిదుడుకులను చూసిన నేను.. ఈ క్షణం వస్తుందని ఎన్నడూ ఊహించలేదు. ఎన్నికైన ప్రధానమంత్రిగా వరుసగా అత్యంత సుదీర్ఘ కాలం పాటు సేవ చేసే అవకాశం లభించడం నా జీవితంలో లభించిన గొప్ప అదృష్టంగా భావిస్తున్నాను. ఈ సందర్భంగా నన్ను గౌరవించి.. ఇంతటి గౌరవాన్ని అందించిన మీ అందరికీ నేను హృదయపూర్వకంగా కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలుపుకుంటున్నాను. ఇంత సుదీర్ఘ కాలం పాటు మాతృభూమికి సేవ చేసే భాగ్యం లభించడం కేవలం దైవ కృప వలనే సాధ్యమైంది. నా దృష్టిలో ప్రజలే దైవ స్వరూపం. నేను సేవను ఎల్లప్పుడూ ఒక ఆధ్యాత్మిక సాధనగా భావిస్తాను. ఇది ఒక సామూహిక త్యాగం, ఇందులో మీరందరూ కర్తవ్య భావంతో తమ వంతు సహకారం అందించారు.’’ అని తెలిపారు.
‘‘గత పన్నెండేళ్లలో 25 లక్షల మందిని పేదరికం నుంచి విముక్తి కలిగించాం. కాంగ్రెస్ ద్రోహం చేసిన తర్వాత.. దేశ ప్రజలు తమ నమ్మకాన్ని మాపై ఉంచారు. ఎన్డీఏ కుటుంబంగా దేశ ప్రజల నమ్మకాన్ని మరింత బలోపేతం చేశామన్నందుకు ఈ రోజు నేను గర్వపడుతున్నాను. ప్రభుత్వం సదుద్దేశంతో పనిచేసినప్పుడు దేశం అభివృద్ధి పథంలో పురోగమిస్తుందని దేశ ప్రజలు చూశారు. 25 కోట్ల మంది ప్రజలు పేదరికపు రేఖకు పైకి రావడం మన విధానాలు సరైనవని చూపిస్తుంది.’’ అని అన్నారు.
